About the project
Do you recall the fairy tale you were read to as a child, where one of the characters falls asleep under a spell and awakens 100 years later? Then upon awakening the gardens are totally overgrown with trees and vegetation and vines covering all the buildings.
When we arrived at the property in Floreat, what we saw was like the fairy tale.
The request was to clean up the area in readiness for selling the properties.
How we transformed this garden
We assembled a team of workers. Because of the enormity of the task a bobcat was to become our best friend as we undertook the task over 5 days. In the end many tree branches were chipped and 6 x 20m3 skip bins were filled with vines and other vegetation.
The property consisted of two large adjoining blocks totalling 2000m2, with 2 houses on each block, a swimming pool and tennis court.
Truly a sad sight, a major contrast to what used to be a majestic property. This was a daunting job that required a team.
- There were vines climbing over the top floor of one of the two storey buildings.
- The 6 metre high tennis court fences were fully covered in vines so thick that you could not see through them.
- In other areas of the garden all the trees and plants in the garden were massively overgrown.
- Several 3 metre high Frangipani trees were completely shrouded in vines, so it was impossible to know what was beneath the vines without close examination.
- The vines had also grown along the tennis court net reaching almost to the middle of the court and a tree 2 metres tall had grown on the court.
The end result
The end result was a well-presented site ready to be listed or improved with some landscaping.
